Game Camera Study
About the Study
Carolina Wildlands manages 16 game cameras spread across the Southern 8ths Field Station covering a variety of habitats. We capture images year-round, collecting data on species numbers and location each week. We participate annually in the Snapshot USA project sponsored by Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute’s Conservation Ecology Center which uses information collected from September 1st to October 31st to track relative abundance and create distribution maps for significant wildlife species.
