September 2024 – Game Camera Study
This month brought us many of our frequently seen friends. We saw many White-tailed deer, Eastern Gray Squirrels, and Northern Raccoons. One of our most interesting sightings was a Gray Fox which we had not seen on the property since February. Along with the Gray Fox sighting, there were Red Foxes caught on camera a total of 16 times in the month of September. Bobcats and Coyotes were seen traveling around the property late at night this month, with a few surprising daytime sightings. Our favorite White-tailed deer, Paintjob, has been spotted 11 times this month! She earned her name because of her striking piebald coat, which features a mix of brown and unusual patches of white.
Along with our usual terrestrial animal sightings we also spotted a few bird species on camera. This includes Great Blue Herons, Bobwhite Quails, Northern Cardinals, and even a goose!
